Od osnivanja KTR grupe, kompanija je kontinuirano rasla gotovo u svim oblastima. Značajan inovacioni kapacitet i snažan pionirski duh i danas predstavljaju pokretačku snagu kompanije KTR.
Sve je počelo tokom 1950-ih godina. U sedištu kompanije KTR u Rajneu (Rheine) razvijena je BoWex®, prva lučno nazubljena spojnica koja je kombinovala čelik i plastiku. Ubrzo nakon toga usledila je ROTEX®, prva brendirana spojnica izrađena prema DIN standardu. Ovi uspesi podstakli su dalji razvoj i predstavljali osnovu na kojoj KTR i danas gradi svoj uspeh.
Pored brojnih standardnih proizvoda, KTR svake godine razvija više od 20.000 novih rešenja i varijanti proizvoda prema zahtevima svojih kupaca. Kako bi održala visok nivo kvaliteta, kompanija se neprestano razvija: novi centar za istraživanje i razvoj u Rajneu, kao i novi Kompetencijski centar za kočione sisteme u Schloss Holte-Stukenbrocku, imaju važnu ulogu u oblikovanju budućnosti kompanije KTR.
